WWE PPV 05

- - 2005 Revolution - -
January 9 in San Juan, PR
(Home Video (VG/EX))
Tag Team Title Match: Christian and Tyson Tomko vs. William Regal and Eugene
Women's Title Match: Trish Stratus vs. Lita- Title change, back to Trish.
IC Title Match: Maven vs. Shelton Benjamin
Muhammad Hassan vs. Jerry Lawler
Kane vs. Gene Snitsky
Elimination Chamber, World Heavyweight Title Match: Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Triple H vs. Edge vs. Batista vs. Randy Orton- Shawn Michaels is the special guest referee while Triple H wins the Title back. During the match, Batista throws Chris Jericho on top of a cameraman inside the chamber who just happens to be wearing elbow pads.
- - 2005 Royal Rumble - -
January 30 in Fresno, CA
Edge vs. Shawn Michaels- Good match, good pop from the crown, and just a great way to start the Royal Rumble.
Casket Match: Heidenreich vs. Undertaker- Undertaker leg drops onto the casket with Heidenreich's head and neck inside.
WWE Title Match: Kurt Angle vs. Big Show vs. John Bradshaw Layfield
World Heavyweight Title Match: Randy Orton vs. Triple H
Royal Rumble Match:- Starts with Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit but ends with Batista throwing out John Cena and winning a trip to Wrestlemania. Other highlights include the Shawn Michaels/Kurt Angle scuffle, the sick clothesline by Gene Snitsky on Paul London on the ring apron, and Vince McMahon's hobble to the ring and attempted slide into it.
- - 2005 No Way Out - -
February 20 in Pittsburgh, PA
Tag Team Title Match: Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero vs. Basham Brothers
Heidenreich vs. Booker T
Cruiserweight Title Match: Paul London vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Shannon Moore vs. Spike Dudley vs. Akio vs. Funaki- Chavo is the new lightweight champ.
Luther Reigns vs. Undertaker
Rookie Diva Contest- Won by Joy Giovanni.
Kurt Angle vs. John Cena
Barbwire Steel Cage, WWE Title Match: Big Show vs. JBL- These guys bleed so much but I'm still trying to figure out why? They never touched the barbwire and were only thrown into the cage a couple of times. Hmmmmmm. Only cool spot here is Big Show chokeslamming Justin Hawk Bradshaw through the mat, literally.
- - 2005 Wrestlemania 21 - -
April 3 in Los Angeles, CA
(Live (G/VG))
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio- Very nice opener with Mysterio picking up the win, followed with a handshake. This is the first time co-holders of the tag team titles have faced each other at Wrestlemania.
Money in the Bank, Ladder Match: Chris Benoit vs. Christian vs. Kane vs. Edge vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Chris Jericho- Edge wins the match but Benjamin was probably the star of the match with a couple of innovative moves like running up the ladder and clotheslining someone (I forget who) off the top of another ladder.
Eugene/Muhammad Hassan/Hulk Hogan Segment
Undertaker vs. Randy Orton- Not too shabby of a match with a good ending. You had to think that Orton was going to go over here with two near pinfalls but Undertaker still wins with a tombstone.
Women's Title Match: Christy Hemme vs. Trish Stratus
Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle- Hands down, the best match of the night.
Piper's Pit with Steve Austin/Carlito Cool- Started to be a classic interview until Carlito came out. Piper took those "what" chants and threw them back in the crowd's face.
WWE Title Match: John Cena vs. JBL- Cena wins his first championship. Let's hope a long time goes by before the WWE has another championship match this bad.
World Heavyweight Title Match: Batista vs. Triple H- Well, looks like they went about 20 minutes so never mind. Batista sure had some great momentum going into Wrestlemania but this match didn't help. He did pick up the title from Triple H here though for his first championship.
- - 2005 Backlash - -
May 1 in Manchester, NH
(Live (G/VG))
IC Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin
Tag Team Title Match: Heart Throbs vs. Hurricane and Rosey vs. Simon Dean and Maven vs. La Resistance vs. William Regal and Tajiri- Hurricane and Rosey win the worthless titles.
Last Man Standing Match: Chris Benoit vs. Edge
Kane vs. Viscera
Shawn Michaels and Hulk Hogan vs. Muhammad Hassan and Daivari
World Heavyweight Title Match: Triple H vs. Batista- Triple H puts over Batista again as Batista hangs on to his title.
- - 2005 Judgment Day - -
May 22 in Minneapolis, MN
(G)
Tag Team Title Match: Hardcore Holly and Charlie Haas vs. MNM
Carlito vs. Big Show
Cruiserweight Title Match: Chavo Guerrero vs. Paul London
Kurt Angle vs. Booker T
US Title Match: Heidenreich vs. Orlando Jordan
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio
I Quit Match: JBL vs. John Cena
- - 2005 ECW: One Night Stand - -
June 12 in New York, NY
(2 DVDs, Live (G/VG))
Joey Styles and Mick Foley Commentate.
Lance Storm vs. Chris Jericho- Storm wins his "last match" (we'll see) with the help of Justin Credible. The crowd is as hot as all ECW crowds.
Tajiri vs. Little Guido vs. Super Crazy
Psychosis vs. Rey Mysterio Jr
Joel Gertner/Kurt Angle/JBL Interview- Vince just has to have the presence of the WWE here.
Rob Van Dam Interview- RVD is back on TV after being out several months and cuts a promo about ECW and that not being able to wrestle this show sucks more than not wrestling at Wrestlemania. Rhyno comes out to nail RVD leading to...
Rhyno vs. Sabu- Sabu looks like he is 50 now but he's still a nut. The crowd lets Rhyno know that he was fired in case he forgot.
Chris Benoit vs. Eddie Guerrero- Should have been better.
Joel Gertner/Eric Bischoff Interview
Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka- The craziest match of the night where Both men go through many tables.
Paul Heyman Interview- The second shoot of the night (RVD was 1st), Heyman shows his emotion as the crowd chants "Thank You Paul". Paul E then rips on Edge and JBL while giving the quote of the year "The only reason you were champion for a year, is because Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays."
Dudley Boyz vs. Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman- Sandman makes about a 5 minute entrance while the whole crowd is singing his Metallica entrance song. Great PPV, great night and might be the best PPV in 5 years, outside of Wrestlemanias. The crowd was hot all night and showed that there is still a craving for EC F'n W.
- - 2005 Vengeance - -
June 26 in Las Vegas, NV
(Live (G/VG))
IC Title Match: Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito
Victoria vs. Christy Hemme
Kane vs. Edge
Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle- Not as good as their first at WM but still pretty good with HBK going over this time.
Lilian Garcia/Viscera/Godfather Segment
WWE Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. Christian vs. John Cena
Hell in a Cell, World Heavyweight Title Match: Triple H vs. Batista- Again, Batista goes over Triple H. Maybe Triple H reads the internet and finally realizes he is the focal point too much.
- - 2005 Great American Bash - -
July 24 in Buffalo, NY
(Live (G/VG))
Tag Team Title Match: Heidenreich and Animal vs. MNM- The new LOD win the tag titles as it appears the WWE is trying to boost their tag team division and the LOD DVD sales.
Christian vs. Booker T
US Title Match: Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan
Muhammad Hassan vs. Undertaker- The Hassan character was forced to be gone after this match for being a little too over the top with their storylines.
Mexicools vs. Blue World Order
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio
Bra and Panties Match: Torrie Wilson vs. Melina
World Heavyweight Title Match: JBL vs. Batista
- - 2005 SummerSlam - -
August 21 in Washington, DC
(Home Video (VG))
US Title Match: Chris Benoit vs. Orlando Jordan- Benoit wins the title in about 20 seconds.
Matt Hardy vs. Edge- The big payoff match to Edge and Matt's real life feud but this wasn't that great, not as good as the few matches they had after this.
Ladder Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio- This was a fantastic match with some innovative stuff which is getting harder and harder to do with all the ladder matches that the WWE has put on in the last 8 years.
Kurt Angle vs. Eugene- Angle shows that he is a popular heel as Eugene is getting some boos.
Undertaker vs. Randy Orton- Orton wins.
WWE Title Match: Chris Jericho vs. John Cena
World Heavyweight Title Match: JBL vs. Batista
Shawn Michaels vs. Hulk Hogan- The main reason people bought this PPV and Michaels makes Hogan look good here. Hogan wins and instead of letting Shawn Michaels win a rematch at the next PPV, Hogan goes home after this and Michaels has some words for Hogan the next night on Raw.
- - 2005 Unforgiven - -
September 18 in Oklahoma City, OK
(Home Video (VG))
IC Title Match: Ric Flair vs. Carlito- Flair wins the IC title for the first time and says that it's as big as any of the 16 Heavyweight Title wins. He then parties with some hotties after the match and pops a few Viagras.
Torrie Wilson and Victoria vs. Trish Stratus and Ashley
Gene Snitsky vs. Big Show
Kerwin White vs. Shelton Benjamin
Steel Cage Match: Matt Hardy vs. Edge
Tag Team Title Match" Lance Cade (Waylon Mercy's son/idol) and Trevor Murdoch vs. Hurricane and Rosey- The new guys win the tag titles and are on top of the tag team mountain, a mountain the consists of only one tag team on Raw.
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Masters

October 9 in Houston, TX

US Title Match: Booker T vs. Christian vs. Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit
Ken Kennedy vs. Hardcore Holly
JBL vs. Rey Mysterio
Casket Match: Randy and Bob Orton vs. Undertaker
Cruiserweight Title Match: Juventud vs. Nunzio- Juvi wins the title that the WWE has done a horrible job in promoting. There is no reason why that division and title can't be as big if not bigger than it was in WCW, no excuses.
World Heavyweight Title Match: Eddie Guerrero vs. Batista
- - 2005 Taboo Tuesday - -
November 1 in San Diego, CA
(Home Video (VG))
Gene Snitsky and Chris Masters vs. Rey Mysterio and Matt Hardy
Rob Conway and Tyson Tomko vs. Eugene and Superfly Jimmy Snuka
Carlito vs. Mankind
World Tag Team Title Match: Kane and Big Show vs. Trevor Murdoch and Lance Cade- New tag team champions, as if anyone cared.
Street Fight: Coach, Vader, and Goldust vs. Batista- Was supposed to be Steve Austin instead of Batista, which would have been better because Austin has some history with Vader and Goldust. Even though this match was bad, I will always mark out for two legends coming back for something.
Diva Battle Royal
IC Title, Steel Cage Match: Triple H vs. Ric Flair
WWE Title Match: Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels vs. John Cena- Cena retains and Michaels and Angle will have to wait before they get another title run.
